Join activist groups in your country. Sign their petitions, subscribe and attend their events

Being in community is critical. We need all of us. We also need to be part of an us. No one has all the answers, and no one expects or wants you to. Right action is an emergent strategy (adrienne maree brown). Join, support, show up for, and be a part of the activist groups in your region. There are many other groups and communities you can also join that are not listed here.

Write a letter to your Government. Templates for some countries are below

The USA is one of the biggest arms suppliers to Israel's military, and were also one of the biggest donors to UNRWA, which they have now suspended. Even as an international citizen not from the US, pressure on the US Government is important.

Buy a kufiya (keffiyeh)

Unfortunately, most keffiyehs in the West are now made in China. Fashion companies including Topshop, Urban Outfitters, and Cecilie Copenhagen, amongst other brands, have also been criticised of appropriating the design over the years (source). Wearing the keffiyeh can be an important symbol of solidarity, however it poses other ethical questions you must also consider. It's #9 because we believe it's the least meaningful action in the list.

LEAVES OF OLIVES

After Mahmoud Darwish

Leaves of Olives

22nd June 2024

Israel's genocide of Palestine continues, and in the West we go to work.

Blood is on our hands; it seeps through our pores and into our dreaming.

In this durational protest piece, the length of a 9-5 working day, blood drips from an olive tree onto the performer’s forehead, à la the Chinese water torture method.

It's the disfigurement of silence.

What is the toll?
